How much would he have to hold-back?

Gates Read Banner ©Jack BoardmanPREVIOUSLY: She donated the church property to Wilburville, and the citizens set about rebuilding the church—an exact replica of the original.

They set about finding a suitable replacement for their beloved minister.

She ran their franchise operation as general manager and, of course, had notified all franchise holders of her new address in Grand Marais.

Camille Farkleberry had been contacted by a Janine Jones about a loft for sale and agreed to meet her in the lobby, “Mrs. Farkleberry?”

“Ah,” Cam replied, “You must be Janine Jones.”

“I am. I’m sorry I was a bit late.”

“So was I, I just arrived. Shall we go look at the loft?”

“This unit had been a rental and after a tenant left abruptly without notice, she decided to not rent it out again—but to sell it.”

“I love it!” Janine exclaimed, “Now about the price…”

“Make an offer,” Cam replied, “And we’ll see what happens.”

Season 15—Adventure 4—Gates Read—Episode 4—Scene 1… Camille Farkleberry’s Office… “Janine, your offer has been countered by my client,” T-Board began, “You offered five-thousand dollars under the asking price—they’ve dropped the asking by twenty-five hundred, meeting you, half-way. In addition, they’ve had all the issues the inspectors found repaired.”

“Let’s go into my office and discuss the offer—you’ll excuse us, T?”

“The coffee’s hot and quite good, Cam,” T replied as they went into Cam’s office.

“It’s a good counter offer—and as we discussed, there’s not a better place for that price anywhere in the county.”

“I’ve already decided to accept the counter—let’s just enjoy our coffee so the other agent wonders…”

Camille Farkleberry laughed, “Oh—YASS!”

Janine marveled at the honesty and ethics both these women seemed to practice—and wondered if she should adopt those attributes—for a split second.

She banished the thought.

Episode 4—Scene 2… Mrs. Fieldstone’s rooming house… Reverend Gates Read had to wonder—would his take on religion work at Reverend Guudlender’s? How much would he have to hold-back?

He knew he’d have to get along with Guudlender, as he seems to have a very-strong personality—set in his beliefs.

He MUST come-up with a plan.

To be—CONTINUED…
