“I like the privacy of our new cabin, Daisy.”

What was left unsaid, was that she was making the arrangements to dissolve their partnership—one way, or another.

She was leaning towards the death of one partner method.

This could get very interesting—GENTLE READER—very interesting indeed.

And—it WILL!

Season 15—Adventure 4—Gates Read—Episode 7—Scene 1… Outside Boomer’s new cabin… While Boomer was in Silverthorn’s Café chatting with, and getting to know, Janelle and Danielle Silverthorn, Daisy-Legs Beagle (not a fan of coffee and extended human conversations) had been out cavorting with her dog-buddies.

Now the two of them were high atop the Danger Bay bluff (all residents had been moved from the shoreline to the bluff in keeping with the effort by the Eagle Point Band of Ojibwe’s policy of returning the shoreline, excluding the harbor, free of visible structures) and home.

“I do too. Now Kai-Braveheart and I can roam the woods without people-dogs watching our every move.”

Episode 7—Scene 2… On the Bluff Road… The Reverend Gates Read had been out exploring Moosehead County—to learn all he could about it. He didn’t intentionally follow Boomer & Daisy—that was pure coincidence.

He slowed when he saw the Mustang’s turn signal and ultimately stopped at the driveway, “I wonder if I should pay a courtesy-call here—and introduce myself—Perhaps I shall.”

Episode 7—Scene 3… In Boomer’s Cabin… “Hello—I’m Gates Read, and I’m here to save your soul.”

“Gates Read? You don’t say,” Boomer replied—grinning, “How interesting—both the name ‘Gates’ and ‘Read’ are names & surnames found in my matriarchal genealogy.”

“What about the ‘save your soul’ part?” Gates appeared to have a sense of humor.

Gates Read arrived at Boomer’s ©Jack Boardman“What about the ‘save your soul’ part?”

“I’m more in tune with the Anishinaabe or Ojibwe spiritual beliefs,” Boomer replied, “Quite common here—as the entire county is Ojibwe property.”

“And you soul?”

“Tag Guudlender works on that—and gives some mighty-fine sermons, t’boot!”

“I expect you’ll not be interested in my future congregation?”

“Not likely—but there are those who will,” Boomer grinned, “They’ll be pleased you’re here.”

To be—CONTINUED…

It is almost as if Boomer suspects already who he really is 🙂 and for the people who have hatred in their souls: “Not likely—but there are those who will,” Boomer grinned, “They’ll be pleased you’re here.”
