The smaller cabin was just a bit—crowded

Gates Read Banner ©Jack BoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “Gates Read? You don’t say,” Boomer replied—grinning, “How interesting—both the name ‘Gates’ and ‘Read’ are names & surnames found in my matriarchal genealogy.”

“What about the ‘save your soul’ part?” Gates appeared to have a sense of humor.

“I’m more in tune with the Anishinaabe or Ojibwe spiritual beliefs,” Boomer replied, “Quite common here—as the entire county is Ojibwe property.”

“And you soul?”

“Tag Guudlender works on that—and gives some mighty-fine sermons, t’boot!”

“I expect you’ll not be interested in my future congregation?”

“Not likely—but there are those who will,” Boomer grinned, “They’ll be pleased you’re here.”

Season 15—Adventure 4—Gates Read—Episode 8—Scene 1… Janine’s Loft… Janine Wilbur was again on her speaker-phone, “Where can we meet?”

“Before we meet, let’s discuss exactly what you expect,” Bill Carstairs replied, “We did business with your husband, and it didn’t work out all that well.”

“I won’t discuss this over the phone—there’s always a chance someone might be listening,” she replied, “Meet me at the same place as the last time.”

“Okay.”

Episode 8—Scene 2… At the NEW downsized Cabin-on-the-Rock… “Open says-a-me.”

“Says-a who?” Collie asked in a stern voice.

“What,” Boomer replied, “Your camera broken?”

“This is a high security operation here—doncha know,” Collie replied as she opened the gate.

Episode 8—Scene 3… Inside the NEW downsized Cabin-on-the-Rock… All the other members of the “Rootin’-Tootinist-Posse” were already there: Linda, Ralph, Chris, Wyatt, Joey, Debra, Jay, Sarah, Jimmy Hickok, Calamity Jane, Lacy, and Mac.

“Well, isn’t this cozy,” Boomer cracked, “But far less visible from the road—I love it!”

“We are building a lower-level operations center from which we can monitor our operations—even across time,” Mac explained, “Collie will do the monitoring for us—she’s had her fill of field-operations.”

“I like the fact no one can see our cars from the road,” Joey said, “No sense tipping off anyone driving by.”

“We have sensors that will detect if someone stops in front on the road,” Collie explained, “And a couple of cameras to record the vehicle and how long it remained.”

Just then—the alarm was tripped.

To be—CONTINUED…

I think a few claymores would be a nice touch (for those who are savvy about such things).
