“The same Silverthorn as this restaurant?”

Everyday Life Banner ©JBoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “REALLY? I certainly would love that!”

“Great—when can you start?”

While Priscilla went to work at Kiddie Korner, Jonathan discovered Silverthorn’s.

And Boomer & Joey.

“What do you fellas recommend?” Snideley asked.

“Everything on the menu,” Joey replied, “It’s all good.”

“Just avoid the Gratis on a Portis with Escoffier Sauce.”

“Don’t mind him—he just ain’t quite right in the head,” Joey laughed.

“Good to know,” Jonathan replied, “And you are?”

“Are what?”

“Right in the head?”

“Heck no—I hang-out with him.”

Season 17—Adventure 2—Everyday Life—Episode 4—Scene 1… Inside Silverthorn’s Café… “My wife, kids, and I are new in town. My wife, Cassy has found work at a daycare center—Kiddie Corner, and I’m a freelance on-site computer & network programmer, looking to set-up my business. Any ideas?”

“Just one,” Joey replied, “Contact the Sheriff’s Office in Moosehead City—their computer network is a mess.”

“See if you can talk to the sheriff, James Silverthorn,” Boomer added, “We’re reserve deputies—and we know first-hand how messed-up that network actually is.”

“The same Silverthorn as this restaurant?”

“Thanks for the lead,” Jonathan replied, “I’ll head over there, just as soon as I can get an appointment.”

Episode 4—Scene 2… Inside the Sheriff’s Office… As it happened, Sheriff James Silverthorn was delighted to get the call from Jonathan, “How soon can you get here?”

About twenty-minutes later, Jon Snideley met with Sheriff Silverthorn, “So this is what I can do for you, Sheriff Silverthorn.”

“We DO need to upgrade our network—the Cook and St. Louis County sheriffs constantly give me crap about our network,” Silverthorn replied, “How long will the upgrade take?”

“Do you want it done quickly—or correctly?”

“Correctly, of course.”

“Two weeks—tops”

“That’s all?” Silverthorn laughed.

“I could make it take a whole lot longer—if you’d like.”

Episode 4—Scene 3… Still at Silverthorn’s Café… “Oh, CRAP!” Boomer exclaimed, “Don’t we have to get your café set-up for Chris & Wyatt’s wedding reception?”

“Wait—WHAT?” Joey replied, laughing, “They’re getting married? Who knew?”

“How long will it take?”

“Two, maybe three hours, give or take twenty-hours,” Joey replied.

“Ah—there is plenty of time to Git-‘R-Done, then.”

“We’d better get going.”

My cousin Bert McDermid talked about being a policeman out of Virginia in the early 1960’s. The crooks knew how fa r to getaway in huge St. Louis co. The cops would have to get back to headquarters to fill er up thus losing the suspect..I think I have this right. Elaine McDermid.
