“What was that?”

The Search Banner ©JBoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “Wheee!” Debra exclaimed, “I forgot how fast this train is capable of going!”

“And smooth,” Joey added.

“Maybe we can get to Deadwood before we left Danger Bay,” Chris wisecracked.

“Ya THINK?” Wyatt replied.

“Of course not.”

“Still—that would be a hoot.”

Big Mac just enjoyed being out of the saddle, “I feel a nap is a’comin’…”

And that’s just what he DID!

Episode 3—Scene 3… Colonel Milton Bell’s Train heading for Deadwood… Of COURSE—they were travelling at a MUCH slower speed than the Adventure Train™!

“We escaped, Boss!” Jay Johnson exclaimed.

“You think so, Jay?” Bell replied, “I tend to agree, BUT—our enemies have confounded us in the past.”

“How long will it take to get there?”

“I’m guessing several days, Jay, still, a good deal faster than by horseback.”

“And more comfortable.”

“I was getting a bit saddle-sore,” Bell added, “We’ll have get horses after we arrive—and before you ask—we’ll not steal them!”

“Dammit!”

Season 17—Adventure 6—The Search—Episode 4—Scene 1… Adventure Train in Minnesota—nearing the Dakota Border… “What was that?” Debra, who felt the train shudder a bit asked.

“We just passed-through Bell’s train,” Mac replied, “We’re on the same track—most often the Adventure Train finds a siding to pass other trains—but not this time.”

“What’s really fun to contemplate,” Chris Earp added, “Is how it felt in Bell’s train.”

“We may never know,” Boomer added.

Oh—yes, we WILL, GENTLE READER—yes, we will.

Episode 4—Scene 2… Aboard Bell’s train… “What was that?”

“I expect, Sean, it was just a bad stretch of track,” Bell replied, “Don’t worry about it.”

The others aboard the train seemed unaffected by the jostling, and Sean seemed comforted by that.

“I wonder if the Moosehead County folks have figured-out that we’re gone yet?”

“I expect they haven’t, Boss,” Sean laughed.

“Ya THINK, Sean?” Bell replied, “They’ve managed confound us before.”

Episode 4—Scene 3… Inside the Adventure Train in Dakota Territory… “How long to Deadwood?”

“I’ll check with the engineer, Debra” Captain Boomer replied, “Hey Phil…”

Phil replied, “An hour, Boomer.”

“THAT long?” Boomer laughed.

“If we stop for a picnic—longer.”

“I want a picnic,” Joey said, “I have all the fixings.”

“Of COURSE, you do,” Linda replied, “That’s a given.”

“Joey LIKES ‘given’ us his culinary-creations!” Debra punned.

There was a pun-inspired groan in response.
