PREVIOUSLY: “We’ll be your handlers,” Smithers said, “Until you’re fully trained.”
“Good to meet you,” Chris replied, “We’re looking forward to this opportunity.”
“Well, then, let’s get started,” Johnson grinned.
Boomer and Joey stopped for lunch, “That hit the spot, Joey!”
“He’s not here,” Linda explained, “He left the country on vacation.”
“YIKES!” Boomer exclaimed, “Again?”
“He’s retired™,” Ralph replied, “He may do whatever he wants.”
“Who, then, am I gonna pick-on?”
‘Not us,” Linda laughed.
“Crap!”
Season 17—Adventure 8—The Fugitive 21st Century—Episode 8—Scene 1… Outside the Lakeside Café… Boomer had to laugh—there wasn’t a soul he could pick-on, “You could try picking-on me—I have a great sense of humor.”
“You could try picking-on me—I have a great sense of humor.”
“That you have a ‘great sense of humor,’ is true, Daisy-Legs, but picking on you is NOT an option.”
“But,” she replied, “I’m quite willing to pick-on you.”
“You DO like the doggie-treats I give you—RIGHT?”
“It seems to me,” Linda quipped, “You two deserve one-another.”
“HA!” Boomer exclaimed, “We could invite Spot the Kitteh to ride with us.”
“OH!” Daisy exclaimed, “That would work.”
“Hey!” Joey exclaimed, “I was just outside behind the café with Murphy enjoying the view!”
“We heard you were on vacation in the REAL WORLD!”
“I’m retired™, and in the REAL WORLD I am probably on vacation a lot.”
“Fair point, Joey,” Ralph agreed.
Episode 8—Scene 3… Benson’s Motel Room 5… The conversation continued… “How do you feel about wet-work?” Smithers asked.
“How do you feel about wet-work?”
Both Wyatt & Chris Earp had their (cleverly hidden) Colts drawn and pointed at Smithers—before he finished speaking.
“Does this answer your question, Mr. Smithers?” Chris asked—with a wide smile.
A visibly shaken Smithers replied, “Um—yes, it does.”
“Good,” Wyatt added, “Let’s get down to business.”
“Very-well,” Kelly Johnson said, “Our first goal is to take-over all the ‘illegal’ activities in Moosehead County; by whatever means necessary.”
“That’s why,” Smithers added, “We asked about wet-work.”
“We know a couple of guys who have a business—just south of ‘legal,’ who we could eliminate for you,” Wyatt explained, “How about we eliminate that little problem?”
“Who, exactly?”
“Boomer and Jerkovich.”
“Never heard of them.”
“They’re THAT good,” Chris added, “There’s also Big Mac McIntyre to consider ‘removing,’ his scam has never been so much as noticed by local law-enforcement people.”
“Well—that’s your assignment.”
Uh-Oh, GENTLE READER™, this could be a problem.
