PREVIOUSLY: Outside Frank’s Bar St. Paul, MN… Janet Smith waited for the bar to open.
It opened at 10 am, and soon the early regulars began arriving—and it was indeed, a target-rich environment!
After a while, she went inside and scanned the (a-hem) likely candidates.
One fellow walked over to her and said, “What’s a sweet little thing like…”
He didn’t get to finish his sentence—as he was out cold on the floor.
There were no takers.
“Now—that that’s settled,” she wickedly smiled, “Now—if any of you guys are looking for work and aren’t too fussy about what kind of work—I’ll be outside.”
Season 17—Adventure 10—REVENGE—Episode 2—Scene 1… Outside Frank’s Bar St. Paul, MN… “What kind of work do you have in mind?”
“What kind of work do you have in mind?”
“The kind that might earn you a lot of money—or a life-term in Stillwater Prison,” she replied.
“Been there—no big deal,” one of the men quipped, “10 years—three hot’s and a cot—no problem.”
“If the money’s right,” another added, “I’m willing to take a chance.”
The others agreed, and Smith gave them directions concluding with, “The penalty for failure is death—got it?”
No one backed-down.
Episode 2—Scene 2… Inside Smith Enterprises… Travis Johnson, Willie McGraw, Thomas Red Cloud, Hal Barber, Eric Wilson, & Jerry Red Cloud, were all interviewed and accepted by Bill Smith (after a thorough background check), “Welcome aboard gentlemen.”
“Welcome aboard gentlemen.”
“What’s next?” Travis asked.
“Go out and apply for work—no two at the same place—find a place to live,” Smith instructed, “Split-up and go out individually. I’ll give you a list for both jobs and places to live.”
These men were picked and accepted by a thorough after prison background check—and they each followed his instructions to the letter.
Episode 2—Scene 3… Inside Silverthorn’s Café… Travis Johnson arrived and asked to see the manager.
“The owner is here, covering the manager’s day off, will that do for you sir?”
“How may I help you?” Hiram Silverthorn asked as he walked-up.
“I’m Travis Johnson and I just arrived in town,” he replied, “I’m looking for work and a place to live.”
“Place to live?” Hiram replied, “Try Maude’s rooming house, just north of town. As far as a job, I need a dishwasher at our Lakeview City café and the pay will easily take care of your rent with enough left over for food and most other expenses.”
“That sounds great,” he replied, “How do I get to Lakeview City?”
“Follow Main Street through town and just follow the road and it will take you there.”
“Thank you very much.”
