Previously: Chris led the Posse into the saloon—just to let it be known they were in town.
Unfortunately—they were the only customers.
Then again—the barkeep was there—so the word would get-out.
But, even the barkeep didn’t know the saloon was being sold.
“Do you have ale on-tap?” Boomer asked the barkeep.
“Och, Aye sairrr, we hae ale,” he replied, mimicking his father’s speech, “Coming right up.”
The rest of the Posse asked for—and received their respective drinks.
“What’s next, Boss?” AJ asked Chris.
“I believe we need to make our presence known around town,” Chris replied, “And see what that does.”
“That’ll be right up our alley,” Joey quipped, “We know how.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” Chris laughed.
Perhaps she SHOULD be afraid…
Season 17—Adventure 11—MANHUNT—Episode 3… Scene 1… Inside Nuttal & Mann’s Saloon… Chris & Wyatt Earp decided to remain in the Saloon.
Chris & Wyatt Earp decided to remain in the Saloon.
This might be a big mistake—were it not for the timely appearance of Cu-Cu. She blocked Jones & Smith’s ability to see Chris & Wyatt.
Chris & Wyatt left the saloon, “That was close!”
“Too close, Chris,” Wyatt replied.
Cu-Cu materialized next to our heroes, “I just wiped all memory of you two—so it’s safe for you to return inside.”
“Forever wiped?” Chris asked.
“No, unfortunately,” She replied, “But long enough for you go back inside and eavesdrop.”
“Thank you, Cu-Cu,” Chris replied as they went back inside, where they overheard Willie Jones talking to a few of the regular patrons, “Yes gentlemen, you heard right, Mrs. Smith and I bought the saloon.”
“Yes gentlemen, you heard right, Mrs. Smith and I bought the saloon.”
“You gonna make any changes,” the man carrying a Henry rifle asked.
“Only for the better, my friend, only for the better.”
“That’s good to know,” he replied.
With that—Chris and Wyatt Earp—exited stage-right.
Just in a nick-of-time as Juco appeared just after they left.
(WHEW—GENTLE READER™! That was a close-call!)
Episode 3… Scene 2… Outside Nuttal & Mann’s Saloon… Chris & Wyatt Earp rode out of town—hoping that no-one figured-out who they were—and why they were there.
“Do you believe they’ll run the saloon as they claimed?”
“Do you believe they’ll run the saloon as they claimed?”
“No, Chris,” Wyatt replied, “I don’t. Maybe at first—but the lure of easy-money will be too strong.”
“Agreed.”
Our story will be Continued…
