PREVIOUSLY: “I think we’re safe now.”
I believe so, as well, Boomer,” Chris replied, “There’s been nobody following.”
“We should arrive at the condo in about twenty-minutes,” Boomer said, “I’ve already contacted Farkleberry, and he is on his way to pick-up the Rolls.”
“Will this Farkleberry meet my price?”
“Probably not—but he’ll be fair.”
Episode 5—Scene 3… Meanwhile Inside Big A’s Condo… “Well—is he dead?”
“No—he’s disappeared,” Smit replied, “No sign of him—or his car.”
“That is not acceptable!” Big-A exclaimed, “FIND HIM!”
“How?” Smit replied, “There’s no sign of him.”
“Go back to his place—and take everybody with you,” Big A ordered, “And check each cabin!”
Season 18—Adventure 2—SEARCH—Episode 5—Scene 1… An hour later inside Big A’s Condo… “We searched every cabin and found no sign that anyone had even been there,” Smit reported.
“Okay, thanks for checking,” Simpson replied, “These people remind me of the Posse™ up in Moosehead County. It makes me wonder if they’re not involved somehow.”
“I heard some scuttlebutt that the so-called Posse™ might be headquartered in St. Paul,” Smit suggested.
“Yes,” Smit replied, “A contractor I know did some work for one of them—and he paid him a bonus. That’s why he remembered.”
“Find out where.”
“Yes Boss,” Smit replied as he prepared to leave, “I’ll be back as soon as I find-out.”
Smit stopped at his favorite bars until he remembered where he met that contractor—Red’s Bar.
Sure-enough—the contractor was warming a bar stool there, “Remember when you told me about the Posse™ folks moving to Saint Paul?”
“Oh yeah,” Fred, the contractor said, “They were headed to the Leech-McBoal Neighborhood in the West Seventh Street area.”
“Thanks, buddy,” Smit replied, “I owe you.”
Smit reported the information to Big-A.
Simpson in turn ordered all his men to go to St. Paul’s West Seventh neighborhood and search every street.
Episode 5—Scene 2… Outside Boomer’s Saint Paul home… Medlar Farkleberry made Ambrose Simpson a very fair offer on his Rolls—and Ambrose Simpson gratefully accepted the offer.
“Okay,” Farkleberry announced, “I reckon I got her secured, and ready to go.”
“I reckon I got her secured, and ready to go.”
“All right!” Boomer exclaimed, “Take it away!”
Just as Farkleberry was driving away, a white rental-car drove slowly by—stopping briefly in front of Boomer’s place.
The white Impala drove-off after only a second or two.
The driver quickly called Big-A and reported what he’d seen.
