It didn’t work-out all that well

“YIKES!” Boomer exclaimed.

Episode 2—Scene 2… Jones arrived at the Posse Headquarters™… He looked around carefully before dismounting his horse—as if preparing for a fight.

And then walked slowly to the door of the main cabin.

He didn’t bother knocking—he burst through the door.

“YIKES!” Boomer exclaimed.

“That’s some greeting—dad-in-law,” Jones replied as he looked at everyone pointing their respective side-arms at him, “Nice to see you, too.”

“If we knew you were coming—we’d have put-out a welcome mat,” Boomer rejoined.

Season 18—Adventure 1—CARSTAIRS—Episode 3… Scene 1… Inside Carstairs’ Cabin… The entire gang were in the cabin: Sarah McCoy, Sandra & Susan Williams, Eleanor Thomas, Wild Bill Johnson, Jim Smith, Ralph “Lefty” Jones, Tim Conway, & Jeremy Smithers.

“WE FAILED!”

“Boss, perhaps not,” Smithers replied, “A fella I know in Moosehead City said he seen some fellas taking two fellas on a train.”

“So?” Carstairs said, “People take trains all the time.”

“Not with Wyatt Earp and Wild Bill Hickok escorting them.”

“Do you where they went?”

“Yup,” Smithers replied, “Deadwood.”

“Then, I think we take this so-called Posse out.”

“But Boss,” Smithers replied, “We don’t know where they are.”

“Maybe we do know, there is one place we checked where they might be—an old fellow claimed to be a horse rancher when we stopped by,” Eleanor said.

Carstairs ordered, “Let’s ride!”

Episode 3… Scene 2… Outside the Posse HQ™… Carstairs attacked the Posse HQ… It didn’t work-out all that well.

Eleanor Thomas, Wild Bill Johnson, & Jim Smith died on the spot and the others hightailed it away—two of them, Sandra Williams and Jeremy Smith, were mortally wounded.

Of the Posse—only Boomer suffered a wound (as with all old-time westerns—it was only a flesh-wound).

DAMMIT!” Boomer exclaimed, “Even a flesh-wound hurts like hell—it wasn’t like that on all the TV westerns I watched as a kid.”

“Real life wounds—especially my wounds hurt.” Joey observed.

“Yeah, but you are injury-prone, Joey,” Boomer replied.

“Yes, you are, Joey,” Linda cracked-wise, “Yes you are!”

“Do you think they’ll be back?” Ralph asked.

“I don’t believe so,” Mac replied, “We hurt them badly.”

“I wonder if Carstairs knows we sent Simpson to Deadwood?” Chris asked, “After all—it is Simpson they really want.”

Our story will be Continued…
