The Posse™ rode into Deadwood

Deadwood Banner ©JBoardmanPREVIOUSLY: After finding an abandoned cabin, in good condition, in the woods outside Deadwood, Joey Keller set about recruiting a new gang in Nuttal & Mann’s Saloon, “No more women this time,” he thought to himself.

He ended-up hiring Thomas Wilson, Wilbur Smith, Herbert Jones and Rafe Smith—all with impressive credentials—at least, according to Henry Carlson, the barkeeper. Continue reading

Marshal Talley

Joey Keller Banner ©JBoardmanSeason 18, Adventure 3, Joey Keller, Episode 7… Scene 1… Marshal Talley… Marshal Talley is the owner of the Lakeside Suites Hotel on Lake Superior, and since opening the hotel, it has become the “go to” hotel on the Danger Bay waterfront.

A long-time manager for the Duluth Casual Suites Hotel in Canal Park, he decided to take a chance and open his own hotel.

The Lakeside Suites was a welcome addition to Danger Bay.

The Lakeside Suites was a welcome addition to Danger Bay.

It would quickly cause some concern for the owners of the Blue Swallow Motels in Moosehead County.

They had a near monopoly in the county; and weren’t interested in having competition.

The hotel Marshal purchased had fallen on hard-times due to poor management over the years; they failed to keep the hotel up, and it soon fell into a place nobody wanted to stay-in.

After months of work, the hotel succeeded beyond his wildest expectations.

It also caught the attention of Joey Keller.

He had decided after the Posse was getting too close to finding-out his hideout’s location.

Episode 7… Scene 2… Boomer & Mac arrived in the Hotel Lobby… “Marshal, as I live and breathe; you’re here!” Boomer exclaimed.

“Marshal, as I live and breathe; you’re here!”

“I am,” Marshal replied, “You told me how much you loved Danger Bay, so I had to check it out.”

(And that, Gentle Reader, about sums it up!)

“May I introduce you to Carl ‘Big Mac’ McIntyre?”

“Yes,” He replied, “But how did you get such a nick-name?”

“Do you have to ask?”

Marshal laughed.

Unnoticed by Marshal and our heroes; Joey Keller was just about to enter the hotel lobby when he caught sight of Boomer and Mac; and quickly departed.

Keller just can’t seem to catch a break.

He returned to his hide-out; totally frustrated, and worried. He had to find a new hideout.

He would eventually succeed.

“Would you like a tour of the hotel?” Marshal asked.

“Sure,” Mac rumbled, “Starting with the cafeteria.”

“Follow me,” Marshal replied.

Our story will be Continued…
