“How’s our favorite roustabout doing?”

“Yes (pause….) SIR!”

As Silverthorn and Eagle Talon walked out to begin their patrol, Eagle Talon quipped, “Son—you’re going to do just fine—Bigass likes you.”

Episode 2—Scene 3… Somewhere north of Moosehead County… The caravan stopped along a dirt road where they met-up with a small group of—let’s just say, GENTLE READER—unsavory characters. “You fellas know what you’re in for if you join us?”

“We don’t much like your kind, Redskin,” the leader of unsavory characters replied, “But yer money spends—and we’ll hold-up our part of the deal.”

Season 13—Adventure 6—Back to Normal?— Episode 3—Scene 1… Somewhere north of Moosehead County… “Here’s the plan,” James White Eagle began, “We split-up and enter Moosehead County separately, and check-in at separate hotels, resorts and motels.”

“But, Redskin,” Harry Simmons, de-facto leader of the “unsavory characters,” replied, “We need valid IDs to rent rooms.”

“We’ve got that covered—we have vehicle license plates, divers licenses, and information packets for each of you. Take the time to get familiar with your new residences before you check-in.”

Simmons was impressed, “And I see we split-up into mixed groups of redskins and palefaces. I’m gonna need a 12-pack of beer to wash away the bad taste I have over this.”

Tim Wentworth objected, “I ain’t gonna share a room with no effing redskin.”

“You won’t have to,” White Eagle grinned as he pulled-out his .45 and killed him, “Anyone else?”

His question was not answered.

Back to Normal?— Episode 3—Scene 2… “Let’s visit Charlie and Heck’s place.”

“You want to show-off your shiny new badge, rookie?” Eagle Talon laughed, “Didn’t you work for Heck?”

“I worked for both men—first for Charlie when I was in high school. He had me helping keeping his junk-yard clean,” Jimmy replied, “And when I was in college, I worked as a tow truck driver for Heck.”

They found Charlie and Heck in front of Charlie’s, “How-do deputies?” Charlie greeted as they got out of the squad, “How’s our favorite roustabout doing?”

“Remarkably well, for a spoiled rich kid,” Eagle Talon replied, “But we’ll knock some sense into him—no matter how much discomfort it causes him.”

“Sergeant Eagle Talon is a hard taskmaster—that’s for sure!”

“C’mon Rookie, let’s pay some courtesy calls on our local hotels.”
