Familiar face

Previously:

After listening to all that had transpired and mulling it over a bit, “Why?”

Mac, Moosehead City elected a new mayor and almost all the city council incumbents were defeated a couple of months ago—they decided to open a casino in the old high school.”

Really Hiram? That’s what’s causing the slow-down? That’s a little hard to believe.”

It gets worse—at least in the ‘believability factor,’ the win-loss ratio is unbelievably high; and the word spread very quickly. Most of the patrons come away as winners.”

But—how?”

Season 7—Chapter 10—Unclaimed—Episode 4:

Big out-of-town money, Sheriff McCoy thinks it’s all about shutting down our town,” Hiram face darkened as he thought a bit more, “Payback for closing down Big A’s casino a few years back.”

Big A is behind this?”

“Any ideas?”

Todd has not been able to link him to the casino. He’s been concentrating on his animal rescue & veterinary clinic.”

Any ideas?”

Yes. The sheriff thinks the same cartel that was behind the original casino effort here is back.”

Sig Hanssen‘s outfit?” Mac rumbled, “I thought that collapsed with his murder.”

Sarah remembered the news:

Authorities today identified the body found floating off Canal Park on Thursday to be that of Sig Hanssen, local businessman. They released no further details. Stay tuned to DALE.fm as this story unfolds.

Hanssen was not the head of the cartel, they simply replaced him,” Silverthorn paused a moment before adding, “Frankly, I doubt if Simpson is involved in this.”

Meanwhile—at Susie Blackmon’s ranch… James Butler Hickok III had just returned from the new stables, “All the horses have been accounted for—save one—Pal.”

“Pal? Cujo always returns the horses here.”

Pal? Cujo always returns the horses here.”

Not this time. I asked the others if they’d seen him and none had. Not since he died on the trail.”

I wonder—has anyone seen Cujo? She’d know.”

While on the road to the Port of Danger Bay… He knew he could make it to this Port of Danger Bay without refueling—but not without some sleep—he’d been driving now for nearly twelve hours. Up ahead he saw a sign “Campgound 2 Miles” and decided to stop there.

After checking-in at the office, he found his way to the “Campers & Trailers” area and negotiated his way to his assigned site. As he was driving by he was surprised to see a familiar face…
